Sometimes you want to give your flooring a makeover that is not expensive. You can enhance your floors by using vinyl floor tiles. You might also want to consider using peel and stick vinyl tiles for a faster and easier to installation, not to mention it is inexpensive.

Vinyl floor slabs are usually used in the bathrooms and kitchens since they are normally exposed to high moisture. They are resistant to moisture, easy to install and inexpensive, making them ideal for the homeowners on a budget. One of the advantages of self adhesive slabs is that they can look like other types of more expensive flooring.

Almost all of the vinyl tiles sold at present has an adhesive backing already. There is a thin sheet of cover that you can peel and expose the glue at the back then firmly stick it on the floor. It makes the installation easier, which is an effective selling point of the product.

There are various designs and shapes available in the hardware shops or tile shops today. They can also be made to look like other expensive looking materials, like wood, stone, and linoleum finish. They can help suppress sounds caused by feet stomping and other sources by decreasing its echoes.

These flooring materials are also available in rolling sheets or by thin square slabs, whichever the buyer prefers or depending on what kind of space you have. If you have a perfectly rectangular or square space, rolling sheets are a good choice. However, they are not best for other types of spaces that are not rectangular or square.

You will not need to have an underlay when sticking these tiles providing that your floor is still in a good condition. Grout is also not needed if you lay them very close to each other. The task could be manageable in a short period of time without being expensive and complex.

You will need to prepare the place where you want to install it. Make sure that your floor surface is flat, smooth and hard. Make sure that the holes are filled and scrape away any bumps or any old glue left and sweep the surface.

Apply primer so that the adhesive would stick better to the flooring. Ask for a recommendation on the primer if your manufacturer does not recommend you one. The primer prepares the floor by sealing the pores of the subfloor making a smooth base and allows the paint or a material to adhere better to the surface.

It is good to begin at the center of your room when installing the peel and stick vinyl tiles. It is also easier if you lay them all down first rather than laying them and sticking them one by one. There will be less filth that sneaks into the gaps if you lay them as closely as possible.
