On Being Gentle
Often times we think that we've got to put up our own resistance against a front that someone else creates against us. Being a bit confrontational can be regarded a little bit sexy. But in reality, there's only 1 thing that breaks down walls: being incredibly.
We live in a harsh world. Without doubt are there significant acts of true bravery, passion, notability and heroism that run throughout the streams of hate - but the actuality is those acts of hate themselves truly begin to create a drain on our minds. Our past stops us from living in the present, turns us into pessimistic beings at times , and our built view continues our story till we or somebody else comes in to help us break out of that cycle. This disbelief about life and humanity can be astonishingly hard and damn close to impossible to fight. But that is the point.
You are not supposed to fight with or combat it.
You are meant to have a soft touch.
We need more people in this world who are powerful enough to be gentle.
To truly love without condition. To give themselves regardless of being ungiven to. To give the world their best, day in and day out without any real expectation of return. We need a load more of those people in this world. As I have discovered and found through this journey, life isn't about expecting a return. The times I have felt myself unhappiest were the instances when I had expectancies for those around me. Shakespeare himself asserted, "Expectation is the root of all heartache." He seemed to have it right. When we predict others to do specific things or act certain ways we are going to sometimes be disheartened. Try to not expect. You can only control yourself.
Never let anyone else's approach about life negatively impact your own.
Keep in mind that everyone seems to be going through something or other. It's easy to be hard on people. But I know that isn't why I have arrived here. I have been hard on people in the past. But now my opinion is that my only job is to keep to my values and go through life spreading kindness and light. What other folks do is none of my business. Sure some of it "happens" to me, but that makes it even more urgent to keep true to what I am doing.
You can't go through life by keeping clear of having experiences and deep relationships with others. You've got to put your heart on the line and learn. The only real way I ever got to this awareness is by trying continually. Regardless of how badly things go, you've got to keep on going. Allow the negatives to make you more bold.
Don't waste any time worrying about things that were not built for you. Not many are going to enjoy your brand. If you set a high quality standard for yourself - call yourself Hermes - not everyone is likely to want to buy that. Don't fret about the people who hate on your brand. Continue your journey in building the best person you can presumably be and aim higher and higher. By the day let your goals get bigger. Always be competing with your potential.
Remember - be very gentle with those around you. Love your heart out. Strength is displayed in many ways.
