Outbreaks of fire have been on the increase in many places around the world. The causes of fires are thus different meaning that they vary from one scenario to the next. It can be as an accident, say electrical short circuits among others or just a deliberate ignition. In relation to the above, the following is comprehensive information on fire damage.

The most painful loss that can occur as a result of a fire outbreak is death. Some die due to excessive heat produced while a majority lose their lives as a result of inhaling too much smoke. Some victims even burn beyond recognition hence tracing them becomes a huge task.

Destruction of property is another consequence of fires. People lose property worth millions of shillings and this is a very disturbing ordeal for one to face. Many businesses are lost and individuals may also lose their source of income. Starting over is not easy for most people hence they end up becoming stranded.

Due to the fact that these accidents are purely man-made and are as a result of human negligence, they are totally preventable. The major problem is that individuals are usually well aware of the precautionary measures to take but they choose not to follow instruction. If people were careful, there would not be so many reported outbreaks.

Precaution is very important. This means that individuals are required to be very vigilant and careful in all that they do. All naked lamps should not be left unattended to; individuals are supposed to avoid smoking in the house. In addition to that, before going to bed, one should make sure that all fires are turned off. This is in a bid to prevent leakage.

So as to reduce the amount of damage caused, the first step is to call the nearby fire station or police station to report that there has been an outbreak. Individuals should then try as hard as they can to save their lives. No one should delay trying to save any property no matter how valuable it may be. Also, persons are required to use the stairs instead of elevators just to be safe.

To add on to the above safety measures, individuals are advised not to open any door that seems to be having smoke from beneath or around the door knob. All edibles exposed to flames and smoke should be thrown away and no one is supposed to return to that scene of accident unless instructed to. Insurance should be made on what can be recovered. This calls for the necessity of always having insurance.

In conclusion, these accidents can be avoided if individuals took the necessary precautionary measures. Awareness on prior preparations on how to handle fires should be taught. Persons are also supposed to be aware on how to handle themselves before, during and after a fire ordeal.
