Parents generally do everything in their power to provide for a child, but a disabled child is going to have needs well out of most parental wheelhouses. Some children can adjust to their disability. Some however, do not. Some disabilities hound people all their life. But living with family is not always viable forever. Parents tend to predecease their children, after all. So, these people who were once special needs kids need some form of assistance in order to live without parental support.
Soldiers go through one of the most traumatic experiences a human being can through when they find themselves embroiled in war. But coming back home can prove to be a war in and of itself. It is difficult to shake the combat stress away, to stop adrenaline from rushing every time there is a loud noise. But again, there are agencies out ready to render aid, either physical or psychological.
No one deserves to be left behind in life. Everyone deserves to at least keep pace with others. Now, most will never get ahead, but they should not be left behind either.
