Why You Should Attend This Elvis Tribute

By Jerry Sullivan

There are some people who truly embody the word ICONIC, so much that their legacy lives on and thrives years well into their passing. Perhaps no other person can claim a more considerable battalion of followers and impersonators than the quintessential king of Rock n Roll. See about bay area Elvis Tribute.

Tribute artists are essentially entertainers, and they have different ways and means up their sleeves. Some might be lookalikes, some are voice actors, others are mimes, and there are those that are all of the above. However, there are gradations to skill, and it always pays to choose the best.

A great impressionist is well able in performing or imitating the looks, voice, and mannerisms of whom they are impersonating. As said, they have different ways and means of doing things. Some might opt for true and convincing portrayals and others may be all for comedy. Impressions have been subsumed under the category of the casino entertainment genre.

The challenge is actually quite great in this enterprise. The performers are embodying Classics, but for things to remain fun into the long run, especially for loyal audiences and customers, they have to have an element of spontaneity, and well able to incorporate fresh material. Therefore, they also have to be versatile and skilled in developing an ever increasing repertoire of impressions, which is no mean feat.

All these can be discrete, but when they are merged or collated, then you really get the true blue entertainer. You get someone who people would really pay to see. After all, there is no merit in simply looking or sounding alike, or accidentally having the same habits and countenance. But when all these are skillfully machinated for arts sake, you have, voila, quintessential entertainment.

There are supposedly more Elvis impersonators in the whole world, more than any other celebrity. Therefore, this enterprise is not exactly novel and newfangled. After all, it is far from being unheard of. However, those who can truly embody the Kings true essence, with all the trappings of looks and sounds, are really few and far between.

Of course, certain flaws can be great assets as well. When a particular comedian, for example, is like the rock n roll star in all terms, except that he is paunchy, that can actually make for a good comedic feature and punch line. After all, in the entertainment industry, fame is incidental. It is totally up to the artist how he styles himself, and waits to see how that bodes through the reaction and reception of audiences. Lookalikes bring out the trademark visual element a la Elvis, like a pompadour with a slight cowlick or else the neat and stylish sideburns. You also have the soundalikes who talk or sing like Elvis.

But can you imagine the embarrassment if the act you hire is a bit off and perhaps a bit corny. Nothing is as awkward as complete silence during a comedy show, all waiting with bated breath for a less hackneyed or cheesy punch line. Therefore, before you get around to commissioning artists, make sure they are not CON artists. As it is, you get people whereabouts who are sadly disillusioned. Of course, that is no fault of their own, but if you make the tragic misstep of hiring them, then all the blame will trickle down on you and all the perceptions will be reflected back on you, as someone who is corny, unfunny, and sadly out of step with the times. But if you manage to put together a resoundingly successful show, now thats something else.

The huge number of Elvis impersonators has widened the options pool for those who are angling for classic and memorable entertainment. However, it pays to choose well. This enterprise is not just some sideline pastime. It is also about accurate, though revamped, portrayals and tributes to recognize the deathless legacy of a person who has made a world of difference for his legions of fans and admirers.
