One of the largest hindrances in the modern world is stress, and finding some respite from it is a pretty big matter if you are mindful of your health and general sense of well being. There is an array of things that instigate stress, from our jobs to worldly matters to the relationships we have with our family that it can all feel overpowering if we don't become knowledgeable of some easy options for dealing with it. Following are some tried and true techniques for reprieving stress that can be beneficial in a large number of situations.

Breathing slowly and deeply is a quick way to reduce stress. When you're stressed, your breathing will automatically become shallower or you may even start holding your breath. You can take this method further by learning to breathe in a deeper, more relaxed manner all the time and not just in stressful situations. To learn how to breathe more deeply, you can try yoga or any of the various books and classes that focus on breathing. This can help you not only reduce stress but improve your overall health, as the more oxygen you take in, the more energy your whole body has.

Making time to have fun is one of the best ways you can manage stress. You may think that you don't have time to play but without a balance between work and fun, your stress will just keep building. Find simple activities that you enjoy, whether this is listening to your favorite music, playing with your cat or dog, watching movies you enjoy, taking a bike ride, or having coffee with your best friend.

Make sure you take short breaks during the day to have some fun. And when you return to your serious activities, you'll have a fresh perspective.

Time away from your cell phone is a good way to enjoy your lunch break. We may not be able to escape all the devices in our lives, and we may not even want to, but we can reduce stress by taking breaks from them.

You don't have to be great to get the benefits but you may enjoy it more if you take lessons or join a weekly group. How you find stress relief isn't so important as long as you find some way that's effective for you. Because focusing on something positive rather than your problems is a large part of dealing with stress, many methods can work.
