Global Crisis Affecting Many Nations How In Hell Did This Happen

By Agnes Franco

Even small children are beginning to realize the impacts of the global crisis to every citizen. This is how sad the situation is. We might as well just ask ourselves how in hell did this happen if the planet is said to be very resourceful.

According to studies, many families are suffering from inadequate funds. They are unable to support even the basic needs of their households. But despite the situation though, the overall debt of those highly impoverished countries still cannot equate the wealth accumulated by 7 of the most powerful people on earth.

Many people also hunger for literacy. About a billion citizens are found to be unable to write even their own names and are incapable of reading. About 400 people all over the world still have no potable water to access, 270 million also do not get sufficient healthcare services, and 640 million have no homes too.

These are just among the gravest issues troubling the entire world. There are some international organizations like the United Nations taking care of these. But sad to say, these organizations are also likely to be influenced by the wealthy only. This has always been the situation for the past.

It is the main reason why the rich countries and people are becoming richer, while the poor ones are getting poorer. We may think it impossible already to remedy the situation. However, the UN has not given up with its recent Rio +20 Conference held last June of 2012.

The conference aimed to provide solutions to the growing problems of the world. These would include unemployment, poverty, environmental issues, and distribution of resources in a fair way. We can only place our hopes to these solutions so that all people on earth may enjoy what the planet can truly offer.

As for us, instead of complaining How in hell did this happen, we might as well just do our part too. We can help the environment by recycling in our own ways. We can teach small children to be literate. We can also share our wealth to those who need it more. These small measures will surely help authorities with their growing problems with the world.
