You can save yourself a lot of trouble and money if you're able to use home remedies to treat various conditions, including acne. While in some severe cases, medication is needed to control acne, many people do just fine using everyday products they have in their kitchen cupboard.

In some cases, you may have to take a trip to your local health food store or order something online. So if you're interested in acne home remedies, we'll share with you a few tips on the best ones.

Several types of clay are used on the face for different purposes. Spas are usually where these clay facial treatments are done but you can easily do these at home yourself. Bentonite and French green clay are known for their effectiveness in clearing up acne. These are available for sale online and in many health food stores. While these two clays can be used anytime, they're especially beneficial if you have an acne problem. Twice a week, do a facial mask using healing clay. It won't be long until you see an improvement on your skin. You may notice that you not only have fewer pimples, but that you also look younger! For acne control, try exfoliating your skin. The process of exfoliating gets rid of dead skin cells. It also gets rid of oils that can cause acne. Take care not to be too harsh on your skin when you're exfoliating, though. If you have acne already, your acne could flare up if you rub your skin to roughly. You don't have to exfoliate ever day; once or twice a week is enough. A bristle brush is too harsh for your face or any other part of you that has acne. For washing your face, you can use a soft washcloth. Your acne can be treated using exfoliation, but it's important that you exfoliate gently and not too often.

There are some remedies for acne that call for ingredients you'd already have in your pantry. Eggs are a good example. For treating acne, you'll want to separate the yolk from the white, and use egg white. Eggs are one of the most nutritious natural foods you can find, and applying egg whites directly to the skin helps to clean and purify your skin. While there are various facial masks you can make using eggs, all you really have to do is rub the egg whites to your acne pimples or scars. Any acne scarring will disappear and future breakout of acne will be prevented.

For many years we have been using many natural remedies for treating acne. Don't expect a single remedy to work for everybody. Acne can be caused by a number of things and it can vary in severity from one person to the next. But the acne home remedies we mentioned in this article have been very effective, as many people have used them for many years. Best of all, the ingredients in many home remedies aren't expensive at all nor do they require a lot of time to make or use.
