Daily maintenance of this machinery takes at least 15 minutes and you can easily identify a problem before it calls for a whole day repair work. Checking out the various pieces will help in identifying those which are worn out. You will also identify signs of oil leakage. Ensure that every day the tires have the right pressure. This will help in preventing tire bursts. Ensure that you thoroughly clean all the debris in the machinery. Check out the belts and chains so as to ensure that they are held in the right position.

In order to ensure that your machine is well lubricated, you should grease linked parts on daily basis. It is important checking on the safety signs and equipments. Ensure that safety equipments are easily accessible. Everyday, you should look at the level of fluid in the hydraulic and the coolant. Before starting your work, you should top up the fluids if they are in reduced levels. One thing that you should know about operating a machine with low fluid level is that you will reduce its lifespan. Air filter should be checked regularly and cleaned if required.

Quarterly maintenance should be done when the machinery has run for 500 hours or has been used for about 3 months. This is a more through maintenance work which includes changing the engine oil as well as the oil and hydraulic filter. The diesel fuel filter should be replaced as part of quarterly maintenance procedure.

The last service should be done at the end of the period. This service is usually done at the end of the year. At this duration, the hydraulic oil and transmission fluids should be completely changed. One should ensure that antifreeze in the radiator is in good condition in order to work effectively on the winter season.

The fuel which was used during summer time should be drained from the tank and blended or arctic fuel refilled. This helps to avoid the fuel line from gelling when started in the cold season. The entire machinery or vehicle should be washed well while paying attention to clean the undercarriage and engine too. The air filters and cab should also be cleaned.

The air conditioning unit should be checked and cleaned. All the lights should be inspected if they are in good working condition and any faulty one replaced. The tires should also be inspected for any sign of wear and tear. Any tire which is worn out should be replaced during this period of heavy equipment service routine so you can avoid losing valuable work time.
