Supporting a loved one who is in the clutches of any form of addiction can often feel like an endless trial, especially if they are constantly on the rebound. Online information and support resources for addiction are a great starting point when you are struggling to cope under pressure.

There are many reasons that people tend to veer toward a life that seems to offer them a solution the pressures of life. However, this does not mean that they lack the ability to do what is required of them, they just need to find the strength to cope with the blank moments. Lack of funds or any form of intricate social life can often be the cause for this. Sadly addiction does not discriminate and even those who are educated in the way it can happen, still fall prey.

Regardless of what belief stance a person takes, it is not for anyone to judge the actions or intentions of others. It is said that when a person points a finger at another, they should look at the four pointing back to them. This is true because while others who are not afflicted might feel it is within their right to inflict their views, they need to first live the life of the other person. Understanding can only come from actually shouldering the pain that another feels.

They feel abstract to the destruction their fixation is causing and are helpless to stop it. Loved ones who think that the philosophy of tough love is to be applied soon alienate the person and in that increase the chances of a relapse. When this happens the person is left feeling constantly guilty and worthless and the need to get their fix increases. Individuals who are thus afflicted need to be understood because they are going through more pain than they let others see.

Individuals have various forms of monkeys on their backs that cause them to act irrationally. However, when they are in the clutches of this, it is not an easy task bringing them back. The problem is increased if you the assisting party actually continues down the path of self righteousness therefore increase the negative feelings that feed off the person. Addicts will find any reason to assume their activities regardless of what happens to them.

When someone is under the influence of another force that depletes them of their humanity, the last thing they need is to grieved about it. Instead those around who see that this is happening need to give the person the type of strength they need in order to overcome.

Addiction is like phasing out of life into another dimension. In this dimension there is nothing but the feeling of euphoria and completion regardless of what outward destruction this might be causing. Unless you have felt and experienced this, you will never truly understand.

Sadly, it is pretty naive of anyone who thinks that all it takes is love in order to save a loved one. However, having a strong environment that fosters feelings of self worth for the suffer do assist in giving the help needed.
