Nursing Home Negligence Really Exists
At times life can be very rewarding for the people who are now living within Louisiana. Sometimes the older residents residing at Hammond, LA have to face nursing home negligence when they are sent to certain locations. These older people once had very satisfying lives when they were younger and now they have to live like animals at a zoo.
For many years one woman in Louisiana allowed her grandmother to live within her home. Once this senior woman had become very sick and could no longer babysit her great grandchildren she was sent away to a local facility. The nurses and other staff members at this place seemed to be quite nice upon the family's first visit. Everything seemed as though it would work out fine.
Her room had a very relaxing bed within it and it seemed as though she would have plenty of privacy. The staff at this location made sure that she received a healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner. They also made sure that she would always stay nice and clean. Everything went haywire when the older lady fell from her comfortable bed one night. She suffered a fractured hip from this incident.
The staff members at this facility were very young and they really did not have the heart for caring for older people. Many of them were only there to collect a paycheck each week. It was no surprise that the older woman was neglected after her fall. She was hit and abused for many weeks after her accident.
When her granddaughter came to visit her every person working within this place tried to pretend that all was well. They even tried to pretend that the older woman was very happy to be among her new family. Unfortunately this shy old lady could not speak clearly anymore and she was unable to tell her granddaughter about the recent incidents.
After her granddaughter left each staff member would start their wickedness all over again. This was indeed a horrible place to live but no one would ever find out about the terrors within this facility. The senior men at this location would let their beards grow out since they were afraid to visit the barbershop within the facility.
At times the residents who were confined to their beds were not given the proper bed pans at night. They had to urinate or even have a bile movement upon their clean sheets. This made the location smell terrible during the night hours. Some of the residents would beg one particular man for help each night but he often ignored their call. He spent most of his time within the laundry room smoking marijuana.
The old grandmother finally died and no one ever knew about the tortures that she went through. Finally the state discovered the problems that were happening within this place and they decided to do something about it. The entire staff was fired and some of these workers were even brought up on charges. One male was even sent to prison for raping a few of the older female patients.
