Three Essential Supplements Most Men Need

By Marilyn Millbank

A once daily comprehensive vitamin is great, but it may not be enough for most men, even those in excellent health. To be sure your body is working its best; the following supplements are an important part of your health routine.

There is a lot of press about how women need a lot of calcium in their diets, but it is also very important for men, especially as you mature. You need about 1,000 mg per day, and much of this can be enjoyed through your foods. However, some studies have shown that excess calcium can increase the risk of prostate cancer, so make sure you are getting the right amount.

Vitamin D is also important for excellent help. We do take in Vitamin D from exposure to sunlight, but so many of us avoid the sun these days either because of our work schedule or because we want to prevent skin cancer. Taking a supplement of Vitamin D has been shown to improve our immune system and improve bone strength.

Vitamin C is another biggie. Not only has it been shown to improve our immune system, it reduces the risk for a host of other diseases. The more you can get from food, the better, but if you don't get enough, get yourself a supplement.

Calcium, Vitamin D and Vitamin C are great supplements to put into your body, but in order to get rid of all the toxins you don't want, consider cleansing your body with zeolites. Zeolites are natural minerals that absorb heavy metals, such as radiation, and flush them out of our bodies. The unique honeycomb structure of this mineral basically acts as a magnet, collecting all of the dangerous elements we don't want and getting them out of the body.

Available in powdered form, zeolites are easy to take. Just mix them up with juice, water, a breakfast smoothie or even cereal. Users of zeolites have experienced a variety of health improvements. Zeolites have been shown to lessen the effects of diabetes, control heart, liver and kidney diseases, help with arthritis and even neurological disorders.

As with any supplement or diet change, discuss your needs with a physician or nutrition expert. Certain physical conditions can be worsened by adding some vitamins and minerals, so be sure you find out what is best for you.
