Riley Dawe, Superbike Motor Racer
Riley Dawe is known as an upcoming young Canadian bike rider who lives in Toronto. He is committed to the sport of motorcycle racing and started Hill Dawe Racing, in 2009. He has dreams of becoming a professional motorcycle rider and he is more than halfway to reaching this goal.
As long as there has been mankind, there have been extreme sports. The Mayans played a ball game that resembled modern soccer; except it they used a 9 pound solid rubber ball; the losing team was beheaded. In Rome soldiers forced captured slaves to play a game involving elephants and spears; only 2% of the slaves survived. In Vanautu, locals still practice the ancient sport of land diving; tribe members jump from a 100 foot platform attached only to a vine. Today, extreme sports include snowboarding, bungee jumping, and, of course, motorcycle racing.
Bikes are formidable, two wheeled, road hogs. Bikes initially appeared in the late 1880s and people begun racing them around 100 years ago. There are several distinct cycle races, such as Superbike Racing, Motocross, and Ice Speedway. Dawes is a Superbike competitor. Superbikes are modified production bikes and not prototype machines like most used other bike sports. Since they are modified from standard bikes motorcycle manufacturers will sometimes sponsor riders as a marketing tool.
Riders come from everywhere to compete at the Superbike World Championship, the premier race for Superbike riders. Riley has been competing as an amateur in these races at the Canadian Superbike Championship (CSBK) over the last several years. The CSBK is an official part of Superbike competitions, and in fact, is their Canadian partner. They are devoted to making certain that all of the fans, and the riders, have a thrilling time. Of course, they are equally concerned that everyone is safe.
Riley started motorcycle riding when he was young but didn't compete in his first Superbike race until 2009; that year he placed 13th in Novice 600. A few short years later he rocked to an astonishing 2nd place finish Shannonville Motorsport Park when he entered the Amateur Superbike race. This is an impressive achievement for this talented young rider.
The humble rider likes to boast about his dedicated and team. Brian Dawe is absolutely an essential figure within the Hill Dawe racing group. He's the main engineer and takes cares of the bikes, and his son. Riley also credits Jim Hill as an important person who has contributed to his success.
In 2013, the young biker had the engine of his 2009 Yamaha R6 rebuilt and bought a 2012 BMW S1000RR. He decided that he wanted to compete in the MOPAR CSBK National Series in two, rather than one of the amateur classes. His goal was to run both the AM Superbike and the AM 600. Winning these two races would easily establish him as the man to beat. Big plans for this highly motivated young man.
Riley Dawe is clearly a determined and motivated racer. His fast rise in the amateur circuits shows that he is someone to watch. He certainly has proved to be an exciting figure in Toronto where he shares his love of motorcycle racing with thousands of fans.
