How To Help The Kenyan Orphans
Growing up without parents is without a doubt a very rough experience. Not only would the child be lacking in terms of financial and material support but there is also the lack of love that serves only to intensify the loneliness that is surely being felt. Now imagine how bad Kenyan orphans must have it, compared to an orphan in a developed country.
The biggest culprit for their suffering would be AIDS, which is killing people off and tearing families apart left and right. It has proven so disastrous that there is actually an increase of the number of orphans compared to a few years back. With their parents succumbing to AIDS, they have practically no where else left to go to. Distant relatives may or may not be of help to them.
The number of orphans is steadily increasing and this cannot be tolerated. This has led to the creation of many established programs to help these kids out. The dedication of these programs is astounding and despite their differences in methods, they all seek to accomplish the same thing and that is to give these children a better life.
It can be very difficult to lose someone you love. It would be worse when they are gone due to something as sinister as AIDS. Fortunately, there are many ways of coping with it. With pain and suffering being constants in the lives of these children, they can be relieved and that is what these programs aim to do through various means.
There are many ways for people in much better off scenarios to help their less fortunate African brothers and sisters. Possibly the most common way would be to send in a donation. It can be in any amount so no one is forcing anyone to do anything and this would be strictly out of pure kindness.
Sponsorship is yet another method, although it is one that carries a much greater burden since you will be directly responsible for the financial support of one of the kids. It entails sending a set amount every month which will be used for the basic daily needs of the kid, like their education, food and clothing.
Part of this deal would be the correspondence between the sponsor and the child. It is not frequent and mail will be sent back and forth for a minimum of bi annually to a maximum of four times a year. This can be a great way to get to know one another and maybe learn a little bit from the life of the other person.
Those that are personally involved are usually made to undergo certain missions and journeys for various reasons. Africa is a big place, and it comes as no surprise that these programs would stretch themselves across the land to reach out to as many as they can, although truth be told, it would be impossible to cover everything and everyone. Events may be organized to keep the children happy and busy with themselves.
All of these efforts are done for the benefit of these Kenyan orphans. There is no doubt that there will be more work to be done in the future. These programs are, for now, a small step to take in the collaborative effort to make the lives of these innocents as pain free and happy as possible.
