Coaching A Little League San Francisco

By Marcia Marks

Coaching in the little league san francisco can be quite fun but it can also be quite a challenge for a lot of coaches because they will be handling a different type of crowd. Always remember that children have a different way of thinking as compared to adults which means that they have to be taught differently. It is a challenge to any coach to change his method to adapt to the situation.

The first thing to do would be to set rules for the children to follow. Take note that one will be trying to control a team of rowdy little boys which means that they will have the tendency to go out of control. So the coach has to be very strict with his rules and has to enforce them properly so that the kids will listen.

The first lesson should always be about hitting because the way a person uses the bat to hit the ball will be the basis on moving on to the next base. The coach has to decide on who the power hitters are and make them the front line when it comes to batting. However, he must also teach everyone how to bat properly just in case.

Now one thing to take note when teaching batting would be that a lot of children are scared of getting hit. Now coaches would usually say that even if they do get hit, the pain will disappear once the player starts running. However, there actually is a proper stance to take when batting in order to avoid getting hit by the ball unless the throw of the pitcher is off.

Aside from hitting, pitching is also a very important aspect to take note of. Good pitching will ensure the team that they will not let the other team be able to go to the next base. The coach should be able to teach the children the many different ways to pitch a ball and the many types of pitching techniques that can be used.

Base running is probably the hardest part of baseball as a whole. Base running would actually be in line with stealing a base. However, take note that a coach has to be creative when teaching kids how to lead off a base because little league has rather strict rules when it comes to this aspect.

Now with regard to the rules, here is just an idea that the coaches should give to the players. First, all players are supposed to play a minimum of three innings with all players having to step up in the batting position at least once. Another thing to take note of is that there is a maximum number of times a pitcher can pitch.

So as one can see, coaching little league san francisco is pretty much the same as coaching the regular league but with a few differences. The major difference between the two would be the methods of teaching that the coach has to use. The coach has to be extra patient when teaching children because children do not understand things as fast as adults.
