Affordable BIGMAX Cranes With Wireless Controls

Technocrane Inc, one of Canada's major crane companies, now offers a reliable, versatile and affordable wireless remote control system suitable for small mono-boom and articulated cranes with low volume hydraulic systems. New BIGMAX cranes from Technocrane's stock can now be shipped with wireless controls. The BIGMAX crane products which are in service with manual controls will now be economically retrofitted with wireless controls.

Wireless controls were offered and used on large articulated cranes more than twenty years ago. Most big articulated cranes now come with wireless, or radio controls. Small mono-boom cranes owners can now be happy with the new wireless solution provided by Technocrane. Instead of being operated manually, the small mono-boom cranes now come with wireless controls.

Wireless controls have been slow to be accepted for smaller cranes for several reasons:

Firstly, while inconvenient, an operator of a small crane can manage without remote controls. These types of cranes come with shorter boom. If the operator stands on the ground, the distance from him to the load hook is less than fifteen feet.

The second reason is, it is very costly to add a reliable FAC approved wireless controls. A small crane with wireless controls, in the past, could increase its cost by 50%. Cheaper controls are available, but they come with low quality and are definitely not the safe choice.

One more reason is, it really took time to own a small crane with wireless controls. In the past, if you wanted to own a small crane with wireless controls, you had to purchase from the factory in Europe with the lead times of 90 to 120 days. It was not easy that time to retrofit radio controls to the cranes in stock.

Technocrane Inc are now proud to be able to provide wireless solutions for small cranes. All of their BIGMAX cranes can now come with Hectronic wireless controls. According to Todd Slobogean, CEO of Technocrane, Hectronic has improved the design of their controls. Reliability is excellent and people have been able to purchase controls for a reasonable price for the first time. More interestingly, the radio controls can be added at the warehouse instead of the factory. Buyers do not need to wait for a long time to own a small crane with the equipment already installed at the factory anymore. This option saves them money as well.

The new wireless controls come with three or four functions. This solution can directly replace the original control valve which has been lasted for years. The Hetronic hand held transmitter is available with 4 functions with or without additional PMW toggle switches for other non crane functions.

The sectional and proportional electronic control valve consists of man-sized emergency, manual over-ride levers, allowing the crane to be operated manually if there are any electrical problems. The wiring harness, which uses DIN connectors, is weather proofed for outdoor use.
