Spill Containment Pallets Protect The Planet

By Tamra Ferrell

Spill containment pallets protect the delicate ecosystem from pollution from dangerous chemicals such as mercury. There is a concerted push for government to enact legislation to help keep chemical spills to a minimum. Corporations that deal in dangerous compounds are on notice that if they are negligent when storing and transporting dangerous chemicals that they will pay huge penalties for their negligence.

The public is tired of hearing about oil spills that ruin coastal sites and pollute the ocean for thousands of miles and want preventive measures in place. When oil spill happen in the ocean, oil washes up onto the beach and destroys ocean wild life and harms the economy. If fisherman no longer are able to fish in the ocean because of oil pollution fisherman lose their ability to make a living.

Today, global warming is in the news because many scientists believe that global warming is responsible for a break down of the ozone layer. If the ozone layer breaks down, harmful rays can enter the atmosphere and cause havoc in our ecosystem according to many scientists. This is why there is an emphasis on chemical storage and transporting because chemicals can leach into the air and harm the ozone layer.

The production of technological devices such as computers and mobile devices requires the use of hazardous chemicals which if allowed to seep into the ground will compromise the earth's ecosystem. If such dangerous compounds such as mercury were to seep into the ground, the water supply could be polluted for years. The way to prevent negligent spilling of chemicals is to enact strict laws penalizing companies that are negligent in handling of dangerous chemicals.

Dangerous chemicals must be properly stored so that the chemical vapor is kept from evaporating into the air causing air pollution. Workers must wear protective breathing gear when working around dangerous chemicals that can leach into the atmosphere and cause breathing disorders. Years ago, employees at chemical plants were exposed to dangerous chemicals and many employees developed breathing disorders as a result.

The companies that store dangerous chemicals must supply their workers with proper safety gear to protect their bodies from contact with dangerous chemicals. If a chemical spill occurs, a worker can suffer severe burns if not protected. The employer must provide employees with proper training in order to prevent workplace accidents.

The employer must train employees to be vigilant at all times when handling or transporting dangerous chemicals. The government has enacted many stringent rules that help keep the environment safe and make for a safe workplace. The public needs also to be aware of the dangers involved in chemical storage so that the public can petition their government representatives to pass strict laws to protect the environment.

Spill containment pallets protect our fragile environment from harm by providing safe storage of dangerous chemicals. Employers need to follow safety steps to help keep our environment safe from chemical spills. These pallets have helped make our planet a better place to live.
