However, its exposure to a wide range of temperatures might be limited because the iron leg oxidizes fast and cause rusting when exposed to high temperatures. Since the maximum temperature it can be exposed to is limited, the applications it can be used for can also be limited.

However, this can also be advantageous to use for different reasons. It is not that expensive as compared to the others because of its composition. It can also measure pretty high temperatures as long as it does not reach the limit for its oxidation.
