Info and Recommendations For Workouts For Women At Home

By Trainer Davey

When I was a kid I remember my sister wanting to get ready for the beach ever summer. She's go into the family room and follow along with an exercise video. The sad thing was, instead of getting up and doing the workout video with her, I would sit back and poke fun at her and the people on the video.

Let me tell you a little secret. Even though I'm a professional personal fitness trainer and spend hundreds of hours at the gym even day (didn't think that was possible?), most of my own workouts I do at home.

Now here's a bigger secret: my workouts for my women clients could be done at home, too. But don't tell everyone that or I'll be out of a job...

Workouts at home are probably easier than you thought, and you don't really need all those specialized machines at the gym. Let me lend you some of my thoughts and experience with doing your workout at home for women.

I think one of the problems is that people think they will be missing out on something important if they aren't at the gym. But really, home workouts can stay simple and still be very effective for getting into phenomenal shape.

Full body workouts. Maximize your time and fat burn by hitting the whole body.

Make sure you incorporate some strength and resistance exercises into your routine to get that body toned up.

Get your cardio in. it doesn't have to be long, but you do want it to be effective in fat burning. Mix in some intervals.

Carve out your own space. If you have an extra room that would be best but an empty garage works fine as well.

And here's my favorite. Invite a friend (or your trainer) over for your home workout.

Home workouts for women Dont's:

There's no need to spend a lot on fancy equipment - all you need are a couple dumbbells - I've seen thousands and thousands of dollars wasted on cardio equipment sitting unused at clients' homes. Ask yourself, "Am I really going to use this thing day in and day out for years to come?" Chances are (be honest with yourself) no.

Some people only learn one fitness routine and end up doing it over and over without changing anything. Don't plateau with the same old boring routine.

Don't get distracted by phone or TV - turn off the ringer for 30 mins, ok?

Take some of these tips and plan your own home workout routine. Find a friend to invite along to keep you company and accountable, and you'll soon be having a great time getting into great shape at home.
