I'm Happy With Mine

By Allison Alexander

The noise level is probably doubled when shredding a computer disk, but it still is quieter than any other shredder I've worked with. Basket capacity is good. When I needed to get another one for home, I decided to get the 79Ci since it worked so well at the office.

Hope this helps! It is also quiet and doesn't take up a lot of room. My one complaint would be that the instructions on how to oil the shredder are vague and unclear.

The shredder does not seem to accept a lot of sheets at a time. The finger safety feature is too sensitive I feel but I soon found where to place my hand when inserting paper so it doesn't stop right when the paper is in position to shred. It just does not perform up to the specifications listed and would be inappropriate for use in situations which require more than limited, basic shredding volume. The construction safety features and ability to shred thicker stacks of paper are top notch. Had to empty the bin a few times so far and that led to shredded paper everywhere!

There's actually a "power through it" button which you can press if the shredder stops because the sensor thinks you're shredding something too thick.

The shredder is very quiet, it actually shreds the number of pages it claims it can shred, and it hasn't jammed yet. Like I said, if you want a shredder to chew paper, this shredder is for you.

Easy to use and read. I had a pile of paper to shred since my last shredder burned out. I would recommend to anyone I have been using this shredder since early 2009 when I purchased it here on Amazon and I have been very pleased with it. If you jar the bin slightly and push the pile down with your hand before pulling the bin out the rest of the way, you can minimize the mess.

I end up having to re-bag the special bag that is 'custom' made for this unit. It eats through junk mail including those with plastic cards inside without even having to open them. The Fellows shredder is all it is advertised to be. Even if you put one too many sheets you can manually feed through.

I would recommend this shredder. That 13th sheet caused the red light to appear and wouldn't let me shred the paper. I like the casters as it allows it to be pushed back into a tight space while not in use and then pulled out when using.

Will not shred damp paper. More than adequate for home use, but I would imagine that it would be very time-consuming to use in a busy office.
