Becoming A Mother: Taking Care Of A Baby

Giving birth is one of the beautiful things a woman can experience. This is not just an experience but it is also a mark of the beginning of the new chapter of a life being a mother. Motherhood has many rewards but usually, mothers who gave birth for the first time would need some advices on how to properly take care of their new baby.

Often, new babies sleep for at least sixteen hours daily. After being brought to this world, his nervous system is still developing, this means that after three months he'll sleep a lot longer and by the time he reaches the appropriate age, he will learn to sleep at least six hours straight during evenings. Bear in your mind to allow your little one to sleep when he wants to.

Apart from sleep, newborn baby also need exercise. You can do this by massaging your baby. If you exercise your baby you can help him develop his control, muscle strength and muscle coordination. Have your baby sleep on his backside and softly bend his elbows and knees. Also move his limbs slowly. This gives a good bonding experience to both child and mother as well as develop baby's muscles.

From birth till he can already eat, your baby needs to be administered with milk. Milk serves as his food and he gets all the vitamins, nutrients and energy from it. Babies can be breastfed or given infant formula is necessary. It's important to feed your baby when he gets hungry and you'll know it because he'll start to cry.

Babies also need to be bathed for hygiene. Yet after birth and after few months, he should not be bathed everyday for his skin might get dry. When bathing, use sponge for it is soft and cannot hurt his skin. Wash and clean thoroughly his skin especially in the diaper area. To avoid him feeling cold, wrap the other parts of his body while you work on some parts.

Taking care of your baby should be enjoyable. Do not be shy to ask other experienced moms for advices about caring for the baby. Also, you can ask tips about caring for new baby from your doctor.
