If in many countries gold has had a huge influence on customs and traditions, in India it is the culture and civilization that influenced the population's appetite for this precious metal. It played a huge role in shaping what this country is today and the population love for what is pure and precious. The high intrinsic value and the symbolism are taken to extreme in many cases in this country as Indians cannot even imagine their lives without this metal. It is connected with everything that has to do with culture, traditions, religion and customs.

The contemporary civilization is marked by the Hindu mythology which blends mysticism with surreal. The precious metal has an important role in this blend and is thought to be at the basis of present beliefs. However beliefs are not the only things that make Indians invest in gold. They are also looking for something that helps them preserve traditions, secure their wealth and make profits.

This turned the connection of the Indian population with mythology into a strong one and the population adopted this precious metal as part of their lives.

Their beliefs and traditions have them wearing jewellery not only on special occasions but also on a daily basis turning gold into a part of their lives. Husbands who love their wives purchase them adornments made from this precious metal as a sign of their love. The fact that the golden egg from where Brahma, the creator of all was born is one of the main reasons for this respect for the yellow metal that goes beyond time.
