One of the Better Sony Camcorders

By Dave Lashier

There are many reasons that so many users have been enjoying this little cam so much. First of all, it's surprising to see an entry level "flip out" cam that offers 1080p recording. There are too many of these little, entry level cams that only offer 720p recording resolutions. 4GB is also an acceptable amount of memory for an entry level cam. While this can only ensure recording times of up to two hours, many beginning and even intermediate shooters should find several entire hours more than suitable. This two hour limit is also more than acceptable when considering that no memory card has to be bought since this memory is built into the design of the device.

Not all camcorders are created equal! Sony is a big name in the industry, but are they the best? As with any type of camera there are going to be cons as well and this model has a few that are important to point out. While the small (and also light weight) design of the camera is likely to be appreciated by many shooters, it also presents a possible flaw by allowing shooters the chance easily block the microphone openings with their fingers as they are using the device. Even the most careful of users is likely to have this accidentally happen on occasion; smart users should be able to minimize the occurrence of such a thing however.

This video camera has a very sleek design and is easy to operate and lite weight. But this is like all the other camcorders on the market! Also while the device is capable of shooting stills it is very important to mention that it lags behind as far as still resolution goes. This particular model can only take stills at a resolution up to 5MP. The other models in this line can capture higher resolution stills ranging all the way up to 12MP. It is important to remember that 5MP was considered to be a "top of the line" still image resolution not that long ago. Something to think about before purchasing this device, right? After all, you want only the best camcorder for the money for you and your family.

This design also features no clever additional features that some of the other models within this line have. There is no 3D capability or no second LCD that can be used for photographing ones-self much easier. This is also the most cost effect model in the line, and this is probably why additional offerings are given; consumers get what they pay for.

Overall, not a bad camcorder. When compared to other brands perhaps one should check them out as well! But, when all is said and done the Sony MFSFS1 B Bloggie Camera should be considered a worthwhile investment for both beginners as well as intermediate shooters. Up to two hours of footage can be stored without the need to invest in a memory card and the camera is also capable of shooting the full 1080p image standard. The camera is small and lightweight enough to be tossed into somebody's school bag, purse or even jean pocket. The low light performance is good and this camera offers more than enough for the price that it costs.
