Why Look For Other Income Sources

By Timmy Morre

Most people do not look any further then their job to provide them income. In fact there seems to be a lot of rumors out there that anything that doesn't involve working 40 hours a week will not help you to get a decent income and is just a waste of time. Nothing can be further from the truth.

Investing money and even starting a small business can work wonders for your finances. In fact there are 3 HUGE benefits of looking for income outside of work.

1. Diversifications

Have you ever heard the saying, don't put all your eggs in one basket? Well unfortunately everyone seems to forget this when dealing with money. If all of your income comes from your 9 to 5 and you get fired, all of a sudden it is either find another one or declare bankruptcy.

On the other hand if you had say, one or two thousand dollars coming from other sources every month the impact of losing your job would not be as devastating.

2. Quit Your Job

Another great benefit of looking for other sources of income is that it can lead to financial freedom. Just think how nice it would be if you could travel the world and not be confined to the same city and the same 40 hour work week for the majority of your life. By building up passive streams of income you are giving yourself an opportunity to do this.

3. More potential

You can go a long way by working for others, but all and all you are limited. There are only so many hours in the day, this means if you are getting paid by the hour there is only so much that you can make. On the other hand if you have a business there is no limit to how much you make. As the business grows over time so does your income and so does your potential.

When you think about it the richest people in the world got there by either investing their money wisely or by starting their own business. It just has a much higher potential and is definitely something to look into.
